Flower La’i

April 17 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Flower bracelet

Ti-leaf wristband / La’i (pronounced: “lah-eeh”). The Ti plant is seen all throughout Hawai’i and is a large part of the Hawaiian tradition and culture. Brought to the islands by the Polynesians, Ti leaves are believed to hold divine power, as they were sacred to ancient Hawaiian gods. It was commonly used in religious ceremonies as a form of protection to ward off evil spirits and bring in good energy, but it was also used for medicinal purposes. The bracelet you will make today is a token of good luck, your own charm to provide you with good spirits amid your journey.
